Although it was chilly in Kathmandu, it was still quite green and the flowers were still blooming. the red rose looking flowers are actually curly poinsettias. The Poinsettias thrive outside and eventually grow into small trees. We saw both kinds. The purple flowers are just the leaves on the end of the branches of the shrub which have turned purple, and the white ones were everywhere along the roadsides. We think they were monster morning glorys.
