We went to visit the Brown's, another senior couple who live in Dwarka. It's about an hour's drive into another state of India but it is still considered New Delhi. It's more modern than where we live but they still use the water tanks on top of the apartment buildings. We were going on a fly over and I was able to get some good shots of the top of buildings. There are also usually many clothes lines on the top of the apartments mostly used by the top story dwellers. We still haven't got the water tank figured out completely. We are supposed to turn the switch to our tank on in the morning and evening but they change the time on us. Natives instinctively know when the water is coming in and know when to turn it on. There is one large tank that services the whole building. Then each apartment pumps water from that big tank into their smaller tank. Sometimes we have forgotten to turn our pump off within the half hour and our top floor neighbor has gotten flooded. Next we have to turn our geezers on if we want hot water. Sometimes when I am in a hurry, I just heat water on the stove. If the water isn't hot we bath camp style by heating water and pouring it into the dishpans, setting one on the toilet and the other in the sink. We wash in one and rinse in the other. We have to shower in the far back bathroom which will be our guest bathroom if anyone comes to visit because our bathroom shower does not work. We are good at doing it camp style now so we'll be fine if anyone drops in for a few days.
I took the last picture near Dwarka also. I believe this was a brick making operation. It was refreshing to see some open space. And I think there might be some farms out this way. We need to do some more exploring.
